Jeff Slivocka, Chief Executive Officer
Membertou Corporate Division
As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Membertou Development Corporation, Jeff Slivocka is responsible for Membertou’s corporate management. He works closely with the finance, human resource, marketing and economic development departments to build profitability in existing corporate divisions and to develop and execute new corporate opportunities.
As CEO, Jeff oversees all corporate entities, some of which include energy development, real estate, business development services, IT, insurance, gaming, entertainment and the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre. Jeff works aggressively on business development strategies to encourage “Treaty Economy” activities which support aboriginal communities and businesses working together.
A native of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Jeff is a graduate of Dalhousie University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA), with a major in History, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). After graduating from law school he practiced law in Nova Scotia and Ontario. He held the position of VP of Corporate Services, General Counsel and Secretary of Abridean Inc., a telecommunications infrastructure provider, before becoming CEO of Alert Systems, a Wisconsin-based emergency telecommunications firm.
